On <i>Undefeated<\/i>, he&#8217;s backed by a full band, and the tunes are pure roadhouse rock n&#8217; roll: sometimes gritty and aggressive, other times playful.<\/p>\n<p>The first thirty seconds of the first track &#8211; <i>North of Alabama by Mornin&#8217;<\/i> &#8211; is a burst of static, the audible of equivalent of a fuse being lit and slowly burning down. The rest of the song &#8211; the rest of the record, really &#8211; is a meditation on the shape of the resulting explosion.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/131224849&amp;color=ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_artwork=true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><i>The Big Time<\/i>, a dry, biting, carefully observed exploration of changes wrought by success, is an example of the lighter fare:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/131224838&amp;color=ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_artwork=true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s currently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodshotrecords.com\/events\/artist\/12\">on tour with Cory Branan<\/a> &#8211; New York, your show is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercuryloungenyc.com\/event\/506135-bobby-bare-jr-undefeated-new-york\">this Saturday, at the Mercury Lounge <\/a>&#8211; and in some cities, the documentary about his life <i>Don&#8217;t Follow Me (I&#8217;m Lost)<\/i> will be <a href=\"http:\/\/dontfollowmeimlost-film.com\/2014\/03\/19\/streamingdownloaddvd-now-available-plus-screenings-announced\/\">screened before the show<\/a>.
