{"id":2506,"date":"2013-12-17T11:55:42","date_gmt":"2013-12-17T16:55:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nowthissound.com\/ntsib\/?p=2506"},"modified":"2013-12-16T23:01:50","modified_gmt":"2013-12-17T04:01:50","slug":"rural-savage-i-fell-in-the-bog-and-saw-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.nowthissound.com\/ntsib\/2013\/12\/17\/rural-savage-i-fell-in-the-bog-and-saw-god\/","title":{"rendered":"Rural Savage, I Fell In The Bog And Saw God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I put <i><a href=\"http:\/\/ruralsavage.bandcamp.com\/album\/i-fell-in-the-bog-and-saw-god\">I Fell in the Bog and Saw God<\/a><\/i> (2012) by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ruralsavage\">Rural Savage<\/a> on after a very long day and it was exactly what I needed to clean my circuits. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s punk rock that is kind of fuzzy, a little bit rude, leads me to suspect that being in their pit may include mandatory participation in drunken shout-sing-alongs, and ends on a unexpectedly solemn note. There is also a companion EP called <i><a href=\"http:\/\/ruralsavage.bandcamp.com\/album\/i-fell-in-the-ditch-saw-the-divil-e-p\">I Fell in the Ditch &#038; Saw the Divil.<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p>The first two songs, <i>College Drop Out <\/i> and <i>Alcohol<\/i>, show off their punkabilly chops. But it is the third song, <i>Donegal Acid<\/i>, that cemented their place in my affections.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 100%; height: 120px;\" src=\"http:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=4194201200\/size=medium\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/t=3\/transparent=true\/\" seamless><a href=\"http:\/\/ruralsavage.bandcamp.com\/album\/i-fell-in-the-bog-and-saw-god\">I Fell In The Bog And Saw God by Rural Savage<\/a><\/iframe><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t know for sure but I think <i>Dada Taranta<\/i> might be a meditation about finding God in the pub in a very literal sense. Or else it&#8217;s about the little old men you always find propped up at the end of the bar (any bar) everywhere in the world. Perhaps both?
